Introduction to Act 1

The premise
It's year 2075, and the setting is the now ruined city of Rome. Europe has suffered through WWIII, and there's not much left of it. From the south, the Sahara desert eats more land every day, and has now reached Rome. It's the beginning of summer, when Naoki arrives in town. He has less than two months left on his military service, then he can go home again, to the country he's not seen in almost two years. A lot has happened since he left, and Naoki's highest wish is to just go home and forget it all. On his first night in Rome, Naoki meets the boy who will turn his life upside-down.
